Wheat Procurement to Continue in Madhya Pradesh on April 18–19 Despite Holidays; Slot Booking Open for Farmers
18 April 2025, Bhopal: To ensure the convenience of farmers, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced that wheat procurement will continue across all procurement centers in the state on April 18 and 19, despite these being public holidays. Farmers can book slots in advance to sell their produce during this period.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput stated that the decision was made to maintain an uninterrupted procurement process. “We are committed to ensuring that farmers face no difficulties in selling their wheat,” he said, adding that all necessary arrangements are being put in place.
Strict Instructions to District Collectors
The minister has directed district collectors to monitor procurement centers closely. Officials, staff, and associated agencies have been instructed to prevent long waiting times for farmers. The processes of weighing, storage, payment, and transportation must be carried out on time and in a transparent manner.
Warning Against Negligence
The minister warned that any complaints of negligence or irregularities at procurement centers will result in immediate strict action against the responsible officials and staff. “Farmers must not face unnecessary inconvenience. Availability of all resources and personnel must be ensured even during the holidays,” he emphasized.
Farmers have been urged to book their slots on time and arrive at procurement centers with their produce. The government assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations.
