Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on tour of Israel from 8th to 11th May

07 May 2022, New Delhi: The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar will be on a visit to Israel from 8 to 11th May. During this, Mr. Tomar will visit some of the premier institutes related to agriculture and horticulture and will also visit the agriculture fields in Israel. 

On his visit, Mr. Tomar’s will be meeting with Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Oded Forer followed by a visit to Mashav Agricultural Training-Study Centre.

His schedule includes visit to Greenhouse Agriculture Area in Israel on May 9 in the morning. He’ll also visit Netafim area where micro and smart irrigation system is being adopted including use of drip irrigation for cultivation of paddy, sugarcane and cotton. The visit to Israel Institute of Export and International Cooperation is scheduled for the afternoon followed by a round table conference with Israeli agritech startups.

The minister will also visit Agricultural Research Organization, Volkani and will be meeting the Indian participants of the post-doctoral fellowship programme. He is also scheduled to visit the dessert farm in Bayer Milkaon, owned by an Indian-origin farmer who grows Indian vegetables in the Negev desert region. A discussion has been scheduled with the mayor of the Ramat Hanegev Regional Council with the officials of Ramat Negev Agricultural Research Center on Agricultural Extension and Farmers Outreach for Applied Research.
