The Procurement Of Wheat Has Started In Haryana From April 01, 2022

13 April 2022, Chandigarh, India: The procurement of wheat has started in Haryana from April 01, 2022 and farmers of the state have started bringing their wheat crop as per facility provided to them in e-kharid software to select time for bringing crops to the mandis.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson informed that wheat is being procured by the state by 4 procurement institutions (Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, HAFED, Haryana Warehouse Corporation and Food Corporation of India) at the minimum support price fixed by the Government of India.

He said that till April 11, 2022, about 16 lakh Metric Ton (MT) of wheat has been procured by the procurement agencies of the state, out of which about 15 lakh MT has been procured mainly in Ambala, Faridabad, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Palwal, Panipat, Sonipat and Yamunanagar.

He said that out of the total wheat procured so far about 4.45 lakh M T of Wheat has been lifted by the Government of India and Rs 431.86 crore have been transfered to the bank accounts of farmers for selling their crops at Minimum Support Price.

He further said that for the convenience of the farmers, the State Government has issued guidelines to the concerned District Deputy Commissioner for smooth procurement of wheat in the mandis.  In the coming days, the arrival of wheat is likely to be more in the mandis, for which all possible efforts are being made by the concerned District Deputy Commissioners.
