18 September 2020, Bhopal, IN: Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred an amount of Rs. 4 thousand 686 crore of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme in the accounts of 22 lakh farmers of the state by single click at a programme held in Ujjain today.
Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that a decision has been taken in the interest of farmers that no mandi will be closed in Madhya Pradesh. The farmers of the state has been facilitated that either they can sell produce from their farms or also from their home. Agriculture will be made a profitable occupation and will ensure supply of Maa Narmada water to Malwa region. A Green Revolution Committee will also be set up for micro irrigation in the next three years, he added.
One thousand climate based villages to be built
Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh said that one thousand climate-based villages will be built in the state. Custom hiring centres will be set up in villages. Now, food processing of raw material will be done only by farmers. Organic farming will be encouraged in three thousand hectare area. Will ensure getting Geotag to Chinnour rice and pulses of Gadarwada. Under one district one identity, will ensure recogintion to the horticulture crop of that particluar district, he added.
Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Mr. Kamal Patel, the special guest of the programme, said that today is a happy day for the farmers. An amount of Rs 4 thousand 686 crore is being deposited simultaneously in the account of 22 lakh 51 thousand 188 farmers of the state. The Agriculture Minister informed that Rs. 868 crore has been paid by single click against insurance to One lakh 44 thousand 123 farmers of Ujjain district along with the state.
