Different Parts Of Haryana Called On Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal Here Today

1 January 2021, Chandigarh, IN: On the auspicious occasion of New Year today, Horticulture farmers from different parts of Haryana called on Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal here today  and thanked him for announcing “Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana” for insurance of horticultural crops. Under this scheme, farmers’ crops will be compensated for losses due to adverse weather and natural disasters.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. Jai Parkash Dalal was also present on this occasion.

The scheme covers 20 crops, including 14 vegetables (tomato, onion, potato, cauliflower, peas, carrots, okra, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, brinjal, green chilli, capsicum, cabbage, and radish), two spices (turmeric, garlic) and four fruits (mango, kinnow, Indian plum, guava).   The sum assured amount under this scheme would be Rs. 30,000 per acre for vegetables and Rs. 40,000 per acre for fruits.  The farmers would have to contribute only 2.5 percent of the sum assured.

Amount those other present on this occasion included, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Devender Singh,  Director General, Horticulture Department,  Dr. Arjun Singh Saini,  Joint Directors of Horticulture Department namely Dr. Ranveer Singh  and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Deputy Director; Horticulture, Dr. Mohinder Singh, other officers and  large number of farmers.
