Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala Said That The State Government Is Taking New Steps In The Interest Of Farmers So That The Agricultural GDP
13 November 2021, Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government is taking new steps in the interest of farmers so that the agricultural GDP of the State can be increased to the maximum. Mandis are being set up as per the requirement so that farmers do not have to go to far-flung areas to sell their crops.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Development & Panchayats and Food and Supplies Department, said this when hundreds of farmers from more than a dozen villages of Kurukshetra district came to Chandigarh to express their gratitude for setting up a market in Lukhi village. On the demand of the villagers, the Deputy Chief Minister had given directions to set up a grain market in this village a few days back. After about 40 years, the grain market has been established again in Lukhi village.
Former sarpanch of Lukhi village, Sh. Satish Rana, members Sh. Sushil Rana, Sh. Baldev Rana, Sh. Hira Singh, Sh. Jarnail Singh, who came to express gratitude to Sh. Dushyant Chautala, told that the grain market was started in their village about 40 years ago, but it was closed after a few days. Due to this farmers had to go to far-flung mandis to sell their paddy and other crops. He had appealed to the administration several times to resume the mandi but no action was taken. A few days back he had met Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala and requested him to start the market of Lukhi village, on which the Deputy Chief Minister immediately directed the officials to make this market operational. District Councillor, Sh. Gurmeet Singh, Sarpanch Baldev Singh, former Sarpanch of Santokhpura village, Sh. Balkar Singh, Sh. Sukhwinder Ramkaran Rana, Sh. Satendra Rana, former Sarpanch Sh. Niranjan Singh and other farmers, who came under the leadership of Dr. Jasvind Khaira, member of Sugarcane Control Board, said that there is a wave of happiness among the farmers due to the reopening of grain market after 40 years in village Lukhi, Farmers of more than a dozen villages including nearby villages Santokhpura, Jagtia, Hasanpur, Gamdi have been benefited from this market, he added.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala assured the farmers on this occasion that the grain market of Lukhi village will now be permanent so that the farmers can sell their crops without any inconvenience.
