Farmers and farm women apprised of vegetable nutrition garden

19 February 2021, Punjab, IN: The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organised a training-cum-demonstration camp on “Laying Down of Vegetable Nutritional Garden” at village Bhundri in Siddhwan Bet, Ludhiana district. The training programme marked the establishment of nutritional garden at the community level.

Speaking on the importance of vegetable nutrition garden, Dr Manmeet Kaur, Associate Professor of Extension Education, stressed upon the involvement of household women and children in raising of this garden at the backyard of households.

Dr Dilpreet Talwar, Extension Scientist (Vegetable Science), apprised the farmers and farm women of vegetable nutritional garden and demonstrated its layout.

Dr Sherajit Singh, Agriculture Development Officer, Siddhwan Bet motivated the farmers to come forward to avail this opportunity for managing household expenses.

Dr Lopamudra Mohapatra, Assistant Professor, Extension Education, urged the farmers to mobilize at household level for the establishment of the nutritional garden. She also stressed upon establishing this garden at available community spaces and schools.
