45 Farmers And Farm Women Attend Online Training Course On Agribusiness

22 December 2020, Punjab, IN: The Skill Development Centre, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted a five-day online training course on the ”Establishment of Agribusiness on Small Scale” under the guidance of Dr JS Mahal, Director of Extension Education. A total of 45 farmers and farm women attended the course.

Dr TS Riar, Associate Director (Skill Development), said the experts explained the process of starting the agri-business, laying thrust on its importance, value and economics.

Dr Mahesh Kumar, Head, Processing and Food Engineering; Dr Tarsem Chand Mittal, Technical Coordinator of the course; and Dr Sandhya Singh, Dr Satish Kumar, Dr Preetinder Kaur and Dr Sanjeev Rattan Sharma, experts of Processing and Food Engineering, delved upon the significance of agri-business; processing of seed, paddy, wheat, potato, oilseeds, turmeric, chillies, masalas and the use of suitable machinery for their processing; machinery for jaggery, poultry and dairy feed; packaging machinery; post-harvest management technologies, etc.

Dr Lavleesh Garg, Extension Scientist, proposed a vote of thanks and urged the trainees to use the knowledge for better economic returns.
