Sensitization Programme on ‘grapes Cultivation in Non-traditional Area’ Under TSP Project

08 August 2024, Pune: ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune, organised a sensitization programme on ‘Grapes cultivation in non-traditional areas’ and training on ‘Good viticultural practices’ in collaboration with ICAR-All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Fruits, Medziphema Centre, Department of Horticulture, Nagaland University, today.

Dr. Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRCG, graced the occasion through online mode and highlighted the new grape cultivation initiatives in Nagaland. He also assured support to the grape promotion activities in the area.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist-cum-Head, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Phek, Nagaland, briefed about wild grapes cultivation in the region. 

Quality planting materials of grape varieties were distributed to the tribal farmers.
 
A total of 10 progressive farmers and 14 PhD scholars in the discipline of horticulture, Nagaland University attended the programme.
