Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2025 Concludes
28 February 2025, New Delhi: Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela, organised by ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute from February 22nd–24th, 2025, centered on the theme Unnat Krishi-Viksit Bharat, concluded today. The mela featured three days of insightful discussions, innovative technology showcases, and impactful deliberations aimed at advancing Indian agriculture. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of farmers, entrepreneurs, public and private institutions, policymakers, scientists, and students from across the country.
The Chief Guest, Dr Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), underscored the urgency of climate-smart agriculture, advocating for sustainable practices and modern technology to combat climate change.
Dr DK Yadava, Deputy Director General (Crops), and Dr Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Extension), served as the guests of honor.
Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, reinforced the significance of climate-resilient crop varieties and scientific advancements in addressing unpredictable weather patterns.
The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2025 concluded on a high note, reaffirming its commitment to empowering farmers with cutting-edge knowledge, innovative technology, and resourceful solutions. The event catalyzed promoting agricultural transformation, fostering innovation, and strengthening resilience in the farming sector.
A total of 245 stalls of ICAR institutes, agricultural universities, public and private institutes, and farm entrepreneurs were showcased. Over 1800 quintals of seeds of various crops like paddy, moong, pigeon pea, pearl millet, and vegetables were provided to the farmers at a very reasonable rate.
Six farmers were honored as ICAR-IARI Fellow Farmers, while thirty-five farmers were honored as ICAR-IARI Innovative Farmers for their outstanding contributions to agriculture.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr R. N. Padaria, Joint Director (Extension), ICAR-IARI, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, stakeholders, and farmers for their invaluable contributions in making the event a grand success.
