PM Kisan scheme amount to be increased to Rs. 8,000 per year

23 January 2023, New Delhi: The Central government is working to increase the PM Kisan scheme amount from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 8,000 per year. The final decision will be announced during the budget session of the year 2023 which is scheduled from 31st January.

This increased amount will help in keeping consumption and demand in check. This will also help the farmers to manage inflationary prices prevailing in the market. The PM-Kisan scheme with an increased amount of Rs. 8,000 will cost the government an additional 22 thousand crores.

PM Kisan is a direct bank transfer scheme for farmers where the government directly transfers Rs. 6,000 to farmers in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. It is the world’s largest direct bank transfer scheme.
