Over 1 Million Metric Tons of Wheat Procured at MSP in Madhya Pradesh, Payments Begin for 1.25 Lakh Farmers

04 April 2025, Bhopal: The procurement of wheat under the Rabi season is underway in Madhya Pradesh, with more than 1.025 million metric tons of wheat purchased from 125,631 farmers so far. This procurement is being conducted at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

State Food Minister Govind Singh Rajput informed that farmers have already received payments exceeding ₹1,794 crore. For this season, the MSP for wheat has been set at ₹2,425 per quintal, with an additional ₹175 per quintal bonus provided by the state government, bringing the total price to ₹2,600 per quintal.

In terms of district-wise procurement, Ujjain has recorded 1,93,362 metric tons, followed by Sehore with 1,61,737 metric tons, Dewas with 90,740 metric tons, Shajapur with 92,613 metric tons, Indore with 69,558 metric tons, Bhopal with 74,075 metric tons, Rajgarh with 66,047 metric tons, Mandsaur with 42,909 metric tons, Agar Malwa with 40,550 metric tons, Dhar with 33,249 metric tons, Vidisha with 54,474 metric tons, Harda with 24,045 metric tons, Khandwa with 16,654 metric tons, Ratlam with 19,743 metric tons, Neemuch with 6,362 metric tons, Narmadapuram with 8,140 metric tons, Jhabua with 5,710 metric tons, Raisen with 14,183 metric tons, Betul with 2,431 metric tons, Damoh with 3,557 metric tons, Khargone with 565 metric tons, Guna with 1,057 metric tons, Sagar with 1,053 metric tons, Narsinghpur with 221 metric tons, Chhindwara with 185 metric tons, Ashoknagar with 119 metric tons, Seoni with 1,313 metric tons, Satna with 926 metric tons, Mandla with 90 metric tons, Datia with 43 metric tons, and Alirajpur with 24 metric tons.

So far, more than 1.5 million farmers have registered to sell their crops at MSP. The last date for registration has been set as April 9.
