National Workshop On Plant Metabolomics Organised

22 March 2025, Pune: A national-level workshop on plant metabolomics was organised at the ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune, today under the NASF-funded project a detailed foodomics study for food authentication and exploration of nutraceutical potential.

Eminent speakers, Dr Ranjan Nanda, Group Leader, Translational Health Group, ICGEB; Dr Niladri Chatterjee, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi; and Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRCG, Pune, contributed as faculties to this workshop.

A comprehensive manual on plant metabolomics was released in the workshop, attended by around 40 participants, including ICAR scientists of the Pune region and young professionals. The lectures mainly focused on foodomics and metabolomics-based disease diagnostics, with explanations on sample preparation, instrumental identification of biomarkers, and multivariate statistical data analysis.
