National Workshop on Geo-Spatial Tools Concludes
20 December 2024, New Delhi: The 3-day workshop on ‘Geo-Spatial Analytical Tools for Natural Resource Management’ was organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, from 17th to 19th December 2024.
The workshop provided participants with advanced geospatial analytical techniques and hands-on training in spatial data classification, map preparation for precision agriculture, crop health monitoring, image processing with drones, area estimation using SAR data, suitability analysis, and catchment delineation. Using open-source software such as QGIS, SNAP, and R, the program aimed to equip researchers and students with the knowledge to understand and apply geospatial technologies while developing a decision support framework for sustainable agricultural production management.
