Mustard in Haryana crosses 19 lakh acres
13 January 2022, Chandigarh: During the current Rabi season in Haryana, mustard has been sown on about 19 lakh acres of land and wheat on 57 lakh acres of land. With the availability of a sufficient quantity of fertilizers as per requirement at the time of sowing, the main Rabi crops have been sown.
Sharing more details in this regard an official spokesperson said that during the current Rabi season up to January 6, 2022, sales of 7.85 lakh metric tonnes have been made, whereas the sale of urea fertilizer was 7.76 lakh metric tonnes during the corresponding period last year which shows that this year also the supply of urea to the farmers is almost the same.
For the month of January, the Government of India has allocated 2 lakh MT of urea fertilizer to the state, out of which 52,000 MT has been received till January 6, 2022 and the remaining 1.50 lakh MT will be received by the end of January as assured by the Government of India. As of today 44.160 metric tonnes of urea is available in the state, shared the spokesperson.
The spokesperson further said that Phosphatic fertilizers are used at the time of/drill sowing and urea is generally used as top-dressing in the crop. The availability of fertilizers is ensured by the Government of India as per the demand in all the states.
