Mr. Ramnath Thakur, visits ICAR-RCER, Patna
30 October 2024, Patna: Mr. Ramnath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, visited the ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, today. During his visit, he participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting a tree at the institute to promote environmental protection. He also inaugurated a Biofloc unit designed for fish farming at the facility.
The Minister engaged with the institute’s scientists and discussed several key projects and programs aimed at benefiting farmers and other stakeholders. He encouraged everyone to push their boundaries to support the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the livelihoods of Annadata. Mr. Thakur highlighted the importance of making innovative fish farming technology accessible to as many farmers as possible. He also emphasized the need for research aimed at increasing production at the lowest feasible cost.
Additionally, he urged the institute’s scientists to develop technologies and practices that would enhance the income of small and marginal farmers.
Earlier, Dr Ashutosh Upadhyaya, Acting Director, ICAR-RCER, provided the Minister with an overview of the institute’s achievements.
All Heads of divisions, scientists, administrative and technical employees of the Institute attended the programme.
