Krishi Swarna Samriddhi Week Inaugurated
12 December 2024, New Delhi: Mr. Ratan Lal Nath, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt of Tripura, inaugurated the Krishi Swarna Samriddhi Week at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Salema, Dhalai District today.
In his inaugural address, the Minister stated, that our goal is to establish a sustainable agricultural system by preserving and improving soil health. Farmers can achieve revolutionary progress by adopting proper techniques and advanced technologies to enhance soil fertility, he added. Mr. Nath lauded the various activities of ICAR-KVK Dhalai, highlighting its contribution to supporting farmers through agricultural and allied initiatives. He also added that, ICAR-KVK Dhalai stands as the premier Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the state, distinguished by its outstanding contributions to the farming community and its remarkable impact on agricultural advancement.” The Minister emphasized the significant role of the ‘Double Engine’ Government’s combined efforts at the central and state levels in achieving comprehensive agricultural development in Tripura.
Smt Susmita Das, Sabhadhipati, Dhalai Zilla Parishad, Smt Swapna Das Paul, MLA, Surma Constituency, Mr. Sambhu Lal Chakma, MLA, Chawmanu Constituency, Mr. Manoj Kanti Deb, MLA, Kamalpur Constituency, Mr. Paul Dangshu, MLA, Karamchhara Constituency, Mr. Saradindu Das, Director, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Govt of Tripura, Mr. Pradip Baran Roy, Member, IMC-ICAR, also graced the occasion.
An agricultural input distribution programme was organized. Farmers were provided with high-quality seeds, organic fertilizers, pesticides, and modern agricultural equipment.The event saw significant participation from local farmers. Experts from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra provided valuable guidance on soil health management and modern farming practices.
Publications, books, patents, and copyrights of KVK Dhalai were unveiled during the event. Additionally, 50 metric tonnes of potatoes, modern agricultural machinery, small farming tools, and other equipment were distributed among the farmers.
