Challenges and Strategic Utilization of Funds

Despite a steady increase in budgetary allocations, DARE faced a slight reduction in Revised Estimates (RE) during 2019-20 and 2020-21 due to financial constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the department ensured the optimal utilization of available resources and strategically prioritized research activities to continue advancing agricultural innovation.

Over the years, DARE has collaborated with key ministries such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, and the Ministry of Science & Technology to implement research projects. This partnership-driven approach has been instrumental in addressing the evolving challenges in the agriculture and allied sectors.

Government’s Focus on Agricultural R&D

The rising trend in budget allocation underscores the government’s focus on fostering agricultural research to enhance productivity and sustainability. With increased financial support, DARE continues to work towards achieving significant breakthroughs in the sector, ensuring the long-term growth and resilience of Indian agriculture.
