IFFCO Releases New Rates for Water Soluble Fertilizers, Increased Profits for Government Committees
03 June 2024, Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced significant changes in the purchase and sale rates of water-soluble and other fertilizers supplied by IFFCO. The new rates have come into effect from 15 May 2024, for all cooperative societies in the state. This decision has been taken to increase the accessibility of high-quality fertilizers to farmers and the profitability of the committees.
The circular states that government committees will get higher margins on water-soluble fertilizers as compared to traditional fertilizers like urea and DAP. A margin of Rs 8000 per metric tonne will be available on the sale of calcium nitrate and boronated calcium nitrate and Rs 12000 per metric tonne on other products.
High-quality fertilizers will be available to farmers at reasonable rates, which will improve agricultural production. This step has been taken to meet the shortage of fertilizers in the soil due to continuous intensive farming.
The rate per metric tonne has been fixed at Rs 47000 for calcium nitrate and Rs 50000 for boronated calcium nitrate. For other fertilizers, the rates will range from Rs 87000 to Rs 92000 per metric tonne.
The new rates for farmers in 25 kg packaging are as follows:
• Calcium Nitrate: Rs 1385
• Boronated Calcium Nitrate: Rs 1460
• SOP (0:00:50): Rs 2490
IFFCO will carry out publicity to make farmers aware of the utility and benefits of these specific products. Apart from this, secretaries and staff of the committees will also be trained so that they can give correct information to the farmers. These rates will be applicable from 15 May 2024 and will be supplied on a ForR basis. The committees will not be responsible for maintaining stock and the cost of transportation will not fall on the state government or the committee.
