ICAR Renames 15 Institutes and Projects to Strengthen Crop Science and Food Security Focus

09 January 2024, New Delhi: In a move aimed at aligning with the objectives of the “Crop Science for Food and Nutritional Security” scheme, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has announced the renaming of several institutes, All India Coordinated Research Projects (AICRP), and All India Network Projects (AINP) under its Crop Science Division. These changes follow the Cabinet’s approval for the continuation of the Central Sector Scheme of ICAR for the EFC period 2021-22 to 2025-26.

The renamed institutes and projects reflect a clearer focus on their areas of expertise and commitment to advancing agricultural research and technology in India. Notable changes include:
