ICAR organises West Zone Sports Tournament 2024
08 February 2025, New Delhi: The ICAR West Zone Sports Tournament 2024 was held from 1st to 4th February 2025, organized by ICAR-Central Institute for Cotton Research (ICAR-CICR), Nagpur, at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education and Dhanwate National College.
Dr Ravinder Singhal, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Nagpur, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session, while Dr PK Dash, Assistant Director General (Commercial Crop), ICAR, attended as the Guest of Honor.
Dr Y.G. Prasad, Director, ICAR-CICR, highlighted the 45-year legacy of ICAR Sports tournaments.
The event saw participation from over 600 sportspersons across 19 ICAR institutes from four states, competing in a range of sports, including athletics, badminton, table tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, cricket, carrom, and chess.
Mr. P. Kalyan Kumar, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Nagpur, graced the valedictory session as the Chief Guest.
