Haryana government exploring short-term diploma course in horticulture and agriculture with the Australian Government

20 September 2022, Haryana: Mr. Dalal said this while interacting with the members of the Australian-based Indian delegation. The delegation had specially come to meet the Minister regarding tie-up possibilities in the Horticulture and Agriculture sector in Haryana.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the possibility of signing an MoU between the Australian Government and the Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal can be explored so that the Youth of the state can get an opportunity to get training in these short-term employment oriented courses.

“Making the Youth employable by imparting skill-based training is the utmost priority of the State Government. Also, understanding the emphasis of the Government of India on skill and entrepreneurship development, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has been opened to make the Youth skilled. Apart from this, Skill Development Mission has also been started by the State Government,” added Mr. J.P Dalal.

The delegation apprised the Minister that realizing the potential of Haryana in the Agriculture and Horticulture sector, some of the Australian Universities are willing to do tie-up in skilling courses.

The Minister said that necessary directions would be given to the officers concerned to explore possibilities for the same.
