Handloom Weaving And Design Exploration Training Programme Inaugurated
21 November 2024, New Delhi: In collaboration with Nadia Organic Farmers Producer Company Limited, ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata, launched a comprehensive training program on “Handloom Weaving and Design Exploration.”
This initiative, undertaken under the Schedule Caste Sub-Plan, aims to empower SC trainees by providing them with essential handloom weaving and design skills.
Dr D.B. Shakaywar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, emphasized women’s empowerment and market linkages. He also pledged to provide five handloom units to the top five trainees.
The training programme will be held from 20th November to 19th December 2024, in Santipur.
A total of 15 scheduled caste trainees will participate in the programme
