Grapes in Rajasthan: a Special Area-expansion Endeavor of ICAR-NRC Grapes
05 September 2024, Rajasthan: ICAR-National Reseach Centre on Grapes, Pune organized a field level training programme on the cultivation practices of grapes, for the farmers of Rajasthan at Bugaliya Farm, Parbatsar, Rajasthan, today.
To further expand the grape area, Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRC Grapes distributed grafted plants of grapes among the local farmers identified by the ICAR-KVK and the department of agriculture.
The programme was a part of the institute’s ongoing grape-area expansion endeavor in the non-traditional areas of the country. The event of celebrating the first-year crop was organized in collaboration with the KVK, Maulasar (Nagour-II) and the Department of Agriculture, Rajasthan.
All the speakers present in the programme urged the farmers to devote a portion of their farm to adopt grape cultivation, which the participants appreciated as a definite measure to enhance their annual income.
