14 August 2024, New Delhi: ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri-Bhoi organized a field day on HYV of Mazie var. Megha maize -1 at Mawbri village under NICRA Project, today. The programme aimed to demonstrate the performance of a maize variety deemed suitable for cultivation in the lower hills, as tested in the field of Mrs. Susanna Lyngdoh.
Demonstration on Maize sheller, an efficient and cost effective method of removing maize grains from the cob compared to traditional manual method was also conducted during the conclave.
The programme was attended by 30 farmers with Scientist, SRF, NICRA from ICAR Complex.
