Farmers must use 500 ml bottle of Nano Urea instead of 45 kg Urea bag: Central Government

13 December 2022, New Delhi: A notice released by the Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ms. Nirmla Devi Goel, mentioned that the fertilizer companies must promote the use of nano urea instead of conventional Urea bag of 45 kgs.

The price of nano urea 500ml is Rs. 225/- and the cost of 45 kg bag of urea is Rs. 266/-. Use of nano urea will help is reducing the subsidy burden on the Government of India. 

Nano urea (liquid) contain 4% N as encapsulated nitrogen analogues or forms embedded on an organic matrix. It has small size (20-50 nm). This means that it has more surface area and number of particles per unit area than conventional urea.

Independently, nano urea has been tested and certified with bio- efficacy, biosafety- toxicity and environment suitability by NABL-accredited and GLP certified laboratories.

Time & Method of Application

Mix 2-4 ml of Nano urea (4 % N) in one Litre of water and spray on crop leaves at its active growth stages. For best results apply 2 foliar sprays: 1st spray: At active tillering/branching stage (30-35 Days after germination or 20-25 Days after transplanting); 2nd spray: 20-25 days after 1st spray or before flowering in the crop.
