Farmers In Madhya Pradesh Will Get 90% Government Assistance On Solar Pumps
27 January 2025, Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced to rename the Maheshwar-Janapav Udvahan Micro Irrigation Project after Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. The foundation stone of this project was laid on Friday at Mandleshwar in Khargone district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works worth Rs 1042.24 crore, including this project worth Rs 982.59 crore.
123 villages will get the benefit of irrigation
Through this project, Narmada water will reach 123 villages of Indore, Dhar and Khargone districts. The Chief Minister said that through this scheme, farmers of Maheshwar, Pithampur of Dhar district and Mhow tehsil of Indore district will get water for irrigation, which will increase agricultural production and improve the economic condition of the farmers.
Initiative to make farmers self-reliant in solar energy
During the program, the Chief Minister informed about the plan to make 2 lakh temporary pump holder farmers of the state self-reliant in solar energy. He said that the government will provide assistance to farmers in purchasing solar pumps of 3 to 7.5 horse power. Farmers will have to pay only 10% of the amount, the remaining amount will be borne by the government. This will free the farmers from temporary pump connection and they will be able to generate electricity of their need using solar energy.
Decision to ban liquor at religious places
To maintain the sanctity of religious places in the state, the government has decided to impose liquor ban at 19 places. These include Ujjain, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Maheshwar, Mandsaur, Maihar, Omkareshwar, Chitrakoot and Amarkantak among other places. The Chief Minister said that this step will increase the importance of religious places and improve family and social harmony.
The government described this program organized in Mandleshwar on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar as a tribute to her and an effort to follow her ideals.
