Farmers can double their income by adopting natural farming – Mr. JP Dalal

28 May 2022, Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. JP Dalal called upon the farmers to make Morni a hub of natural farming by adopting natural farming. He said that for this all possible help would be provided by the government to the farmers.

Mr. JP Dalal was addressing the villagers today during a series of programmes organized to commemorate the completion of 8 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi at village Dharla in Morni block. On this occasion, he listened to the problems of the villagers and assured to solve them at the earliest.

Mr. Dalal said that Morni is a hilly area and the conditions and environment here is different from other areas. His endeavor is to make plans based on the conditions of the areas so that people can get maximum benefit from them. He said that a scheme for solar fencing would be prepared soon to solve the problem of animals causing damage to agriculture in Morni area. Under this scheme, subsidy will also be provided by the government to the farmers to do solar fencing around their fields. Apart from this, arrangements will also be made to provide additional budget for works related to soil conservation and water conservation like construction of dam and water tank.

The Agriculture Minister said that farmers should adopt natural farming and not use chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Farmers can double their income by adopting natural farming. He said that FPOs should also come forward in this direction and develop their own brand in agriculture and horticulture sector. He said that the aim of the government is to enable every small farmer and increase his income. Giving the example of Sikkim, Mr. Dalal said that natural farming is done in Sikkim and farmers there do not use chemical fertilizers. He said that even in Morni, farmers should ensure that chemical fertilizers and pesticides are not used in this area too.
