Dr Himanshu Pathak inaugurates ICAR-NIBSM Residential complex

15 January 2024, New Delhi: Dr Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR), visited the ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management today, accompanied by Dr T. R. Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science) and Acting Director, ICAR-NIBSM. The visit included the inauguration of the institute’s newly built residential complex.

During the visit, Dr Pathak interacted with the scientists and students, urging them to expand their knowledge and strive for excellence in research and education. He commended the institute’s efforts and contributions to advancing research and education in biotic stress management.

Dr Sharma interacted with the administrative staff and Joint Directors and visited the institute’s laboratories and research facilities, offering guidance to scientists on achieving focused and impactful research outcomes. In his address, he emphasized the importance of targeting unique research domains within biotic stress management to position the institute as a leader in the field.
As part of the event, both dignitaries distributed agro-processing units to women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) initiative.

The programme and interaction sessions were coordinated by Dr Pankaj Sharma, Joint Director.

The event witnessed active participation from all Joint Directors, scientists, administrative staff, young professionals, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students of ICAR-NIBSM.
