Distribution of Concentrate Feed at Farmers Door Step under the DAPSC Scheme

13 August 2024, New Delhi: ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bengaluru, organized a workshop on scientific feeding for dairy farmers and distributed concentrated feeds (30 tons) to selected Scheduled Caste dairy farmers of six villages under the Developmental Action Plan for Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Scheme today. The programme aimed to evaluate the supplementary effect on milk production by dairy animals in the region.

Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NIANP  emphasised the importance of scientific feeding for dairy cattle and interacted with dairy farmers. He stressed the role of ICAR-NIANP in contributing to the nutrition and welfare of livestock in different physiological stages for augmenting productivity.

Dr. U.C. Kumar, Assistant Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Kanakpura Tk, Karnataka, interacted with farmers about reproductive management.

A total of 159 dairy-scheduled caste farmers benefitted from the programme.
