CCSHAU’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra wins Outstanding Centre Award

17 September 2022, Chandigarh: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh has been awarded the Outstanding Krishi Vigyan Kendra award at the national level. The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar presented this award to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. B.R. Kamboj in the Outlook Shikhar Sammelan and Sawraj Puraskar-2022 programme held in New Delhi on Wednesday.

This prestigious award has been presented to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh in view of its significant contribution in large scale dissemination of new technologies through field demonstrations, attracting rural youth in agriculture by establishment of enterprise units, providing accurate weather information under Rural Agricultural Weather Service to the farmers, balanced use of fertilizers on the basis of soil health card, agricultural resources and innovation, sensitizing women working in agriculture about nutrition. On this occasion, HAU, Director Extension Education, Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal and Senior Coordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, also joined the Vice-Chancellor to receive the award.

Tops 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the country

It is noteworthy that 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras from all the 11 Agricultural Technological Application Institutes of the ICAR including Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahendragarh had applied for this prestigious award.
