Awareness and Plantation Drive under ‘Plant 4 Mother Campaign’
21 August 2024, New Delhi: ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Assam organized an awareness-cum-plantation drive under ‘Plant 4 mother campaign’ (एक पेड़ मां के नाम) today.
Dr. Lohit K. Baishya, Campus in-charge & Head, Natural Resource Management, emphasised the importance of plants in combating climate change.
As a part of the campaign a total of 16 tree seedlings belonging to 3 species namely Delonix regia (Krishnachura), Caesalpinia pulcherrima (Radhachura) and Terminalia arjuna (Arjun) were planted.
Women farmers from nearby villages and all the scientific and administrative staffs of the institute actively participated in the plantation drive.
