Annual Review Meeting of DAPSC (SCSP) Organized
26 December 2024, Jodhpur: The Annual Review Meeting of the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes (DAPSC) under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) was organised today at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur.
Dr J.P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-II, Jodhpur, emphasized the need to address farmers’ demands and strengthen the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) through targeted interventions. Dr Mishra urged documenting output analysis to highlight the impact of KVKs, in collaboration with ATARI, SAUs, and ICAR Institutions. He also called for the compilation of success stories into case studies to be showcased by 2025, marking ATARI’s 10th anniversary, and stressed a shift from individual to community-centric actions in the scheme.
Dr Pradeep Pagaria, Director, Directorate Extension Education, Agricultural University, Jodhpur, stated that around 17% of the country’s population is from Scheduled Castes and emphasized the need for KVKs to systematically document their activities to provide valuable insights for policymakers.
During the meeting, senior scientists and heads of 17 KVKs (11 from Rajasthan and 6 from Haryana) shared their progress for 2023-24 and 2024-25, as well as the annual action plan for 2025-26.
