25 July 2022, Chandigarh: Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. J.P Dalal said that Haryana is doing well in sports. He added that sports are an integral part of Haryanvi culture. This is the reason that players from Haryana are bringing maximum medals in Olympic and International level competitions.
Mr. J.P Dalal said this while addressing as the Chief Guest at a Kabaddi competition organized at New Anaj Mandi of Charkhi Dadri.
The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister said that to promote sports, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal is providing new stadiums, sports nurseries, modern facilities to the players in every district. The Government has also announced a hefty cash award of Rs. 6 crore to the Olympic gold medalist, Rs. 4 crore to the silver medalist and Rs. 2.5 crore to the bronze medalist which is the highest across the country. He said that it is a matter of pride that such good events like Kabaddi competitions are being organized in Charkhi Dadri. The Agriculture Minister on his part announced to give Rs. 5 Lakh to the Kabaddi Association as an incentive.
State President of Amateur Kabaddi Association and Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar expressed his gratitude to the Agriculture Minister for encouraging the players. He said that recently a girls’ kabaddi competition was organized in Dadri city. In which teams from all over the country participated. He added that a total of 31 teams from various parts of the country are participating in this tournament. The competition will conclude on the evening of July 24, 2022. He further said that the Association has made better arrangements for the stay and food etc. for the players in which district administration is also giving their complete support.
