05 October 2022, New Delhi: Agri-Startup Conclave and Kisan Sammelan is scheduled to be held at New Delhi on 17th and 18th October 2022 and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the occasion, PM Modi will also be releasing the 12th instalment of PM-Kisan farmer welfare scheme.
The event is based on the theme “Badalta Krishi Paridrishya Aur Takneek” and will showcase the role played by Agri-startups in different segments of agriculture including agri-machineries, agri-inputs, Innovation in agri technologies and various farmer friendly practices to the farmers. Around 1500 startups and 13,500 farmers will participate in the event.
The event is organised by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare under Ministry of Agriculture & Famers’ Welfare, Government of India to promote agripreneurship and innovation in agriculture. The two day event will provide startups to network with stakeholders, market their innovations and interact and seek funding from investors at the conclave.
Government Schemes supporting Startups in Agriculture in India
The Innovation and Agri-Entrepreneurship programme under Rashtri Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was initiated by DA&FW in 2017-18. It aimed to strengthen infrastructure in agriculture and allied areas in order to promote agripreneurship and agribusiness by providing financial support and nurturing the incubation ecosystem. Through this initiative, 24 RAFTAAR Agri-business Incubators (RABIs) were established along with five Knowledge partners.
The Department of Agriculture, Research & Education (DARE) is supporting startups through the National Agriculture Innovation Fund initiated in 2016-17. More than 800 startups have been supported in this scheme.
