23 March 2022, Punjab: As many as 40 farmers from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Patiala visited Skill Development Centre (SKD), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today to gain in-depth knowledge about the skill development trainings.
Dr Kuldeep Singh, Associate Director, SKD, welcomed the delegation of the farmers and said that a lot of emphasis was being on whetting the skills of the farmers in agriculture and allied enterprises to enable them to raise their standards of living.
Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, Professor of Extension Education, shared the details of the short, vocational and specialized training programmes.
Dr Iqbal Kaur Sidhu from SKD informed about Punjab Agri-Business Incubator project. Later, Ms Gurnaz Gill proposed a vote of thanks.
Thereafter, the visiting delegation visited the Department of Processing and Food Engineering where they were informed about the handholding being provided by the PAU for the establishment of agro-processing complexes in Punjab and the growing trend for rural entrepreneurship.
