World Food Prize Foundation announces leadership transition

13 January 2023, Iowa: The World Food Prize Foundation and Barbara Stinson announce the end of her tenure as President as she completes a three-year commitment to the organization.

“During her three years at the World Food Prize Foundation, Barbara has been an effective advocate, highlighting innovations in agriculture to address global food security,” said Paul Schickler, chair of the World Food Prize Foundation. “We wish her the best going forward.”

The World Food Prize, which celebrates innovations in food security around the world, is the preeminent award for agriculture and has continued to advance under Stinson’s leadership. During this period, three remarkable Laureate Award winners were identified and recognized. Stinson also managed through two years of pandemic-related challenges and then pivoted back to a successful in-person 2022 Borlaug Dialogue and Laureate Award Ceremony. WFPF Youth Programs flourished in this challenging period, both virtually and in-person.

The World Food Prize Foundation will identify an interim president to ensure an effective transition.
