Vice Minister Ma Youxiang Meets with Argentina’s Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Bahillo
06 June 2023, China: Vice Minister Ma Youxiang met with Juan José Bahillo, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina, in Beijing on June 2. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening agricultural and fishery cooperation between the two countries.
Vice Minister Ma noted that China-Argentina agricultural cooperation has seen progress while maintaining in stability, as the cooperation mechanism runs smoothly, scientific and technological exchanges advance in an orderly manner, agro-trade boosts rapidly, and the cooperation in agricultural investment enjoys promising prospects. He said China appreciates the prior commitment Argentina has given to bilateral agricultural cooperation, and is ready to work with Argentina in fully leveraging the Joint Committee on Agriculture and other mechanisms to further deepen cooperation in fishery, animal husbandry and other sectors, enrich exchanges in personnel, S&T, trade and investment, and continuously expand cooperation areas to achieve more fruitful results.
Secretary Bahillo spoke highly of China–Argentina agricultural relations and agreed with Vice Minister Ma on strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation. He also expressed his country’s willingness to enhance friendship and mutual trust with China, further facilitate economic and trade cooperation, and make the bilateral cooperation more effective.
