China releases export turnover of agro forestry and fishery products for the month of May 2021

27 May 2021, Vietnam: According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the export turnover of agro – forestry and fishery products in May 2021 was estimated at 5.01 billion USD, bringing the total export value of the first 5 months of 2021 to 22.83 billion USD, up 30.3% over the same period in 2020. In which, the export value of main agricultural products was estimated at 7.78 billion USD, up 13%; Livestock export value was estimated at 166 million USD, up 43.9%; Seafood export value was estimated at 3.24 billion USD, up 12%; The export value of main forest products was estimated at 7.06 billion USD, up 61.8%.

The total value of Vietnam’s agro – forestry and fishery exports in the first five months of 2021 to Asian markets increased by 22.6%, reaching 10.62 billion USD; America increased by 62.7%, reaching 6.16 billion USD; Europe increased by 9.6%, reaching 2.3 billion USD; Africa increased by 17.6%, reaching 391 million USD; Oceania increased by 33.5%, reaching 306 million USD. The market share of the regions of Asia, America, Europe, Africa and Oceania in the total export value of agro – forestry and fishery products of Vietnam in the first 5 months of 2021 are 46.5%, 27%, 10.1%. 1.7% and 1.3%, respectively.

The export value of wood and wood products in May 2021 was estimated at 1.4 billion USD, bringing the export value of wood and wood products in the first 5 months of 2021 to 6.6 billion USD, up 61.3% compared to the same period of 2020. The United States, China, Japan and South Korea – the 4 biggest export markets of Vietnam’s wood and wood products in the first 4 months of 2021 – accounted for 84.9% of the total export value of wood and wood products. In the first 4 months of 2021, the export value of wood and wood products increased in most markets, except for Korea (-0.5%).
