Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong: Promote deep processing to increase the value of Binh Phuoc cashew nuts

According to the Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi, Binh Phuoc is a province with strong agricultural development, especially cashew. Priority in agricultural development has been paid attention by the province with resolutions for sustainable agricultural development. However, to achieve higher yield cashew, it is necessary to have support of MARD in terms of seeds, raw materials, and pest control to increase productivity.
Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong appreciated that Binh Phuoc has been forming 7 hi-tech agricultural zones, attracting many corporations and large investors to invest in the province. However, the limitation of the province is that many crops are old, labor scarcity, crop failure, low productivity, and poor competitiveness in the market.
For the development of livestock husbandry, the minister said that the province has potentials to develop two livestock, cattle and buffalo. However, the province currently has only more than 52,000 heads, it is necessary to pay attention to developing stronger cows in the coming time. The specialized agencies, the agricultural sector need to effectively advise the provincial leaders on suitable crops and animals, achieving high economic efficiency for development.
