Lantmännen Acquires Majority Stake In Simsufoods
16 April 2025, Sweden: Lantmännen increases its ownership stake in the food company SimSuFoodS to just over 50 %. SimSuFood’s focus is to simplify the value chain from Swedish agricultural raw materials to finished dishes in order to help its customers reduce both the cost and climate impact.
Founded in 2019, SimSuFoodS is a food company that produces dry vegetable products. The products are mixed with water, oil and in some cases spices to cook, for example, steaks, strips, stews, gratins and falafel.

Together, we are now taking an even greater responsibility from field to fork to build a stronger security of supply from Sweden, while helping our customers keep their climate impact and cost down,” says Andreas Gundberg, CEO of SimSuFoodS
SimSuFoodS products are currently primarily aimed at commercial kitchens and the public sector. The company’s products have a long shelf life and are also very space-efficient, which means that many customers see the products as a natural part of their contingency plans.
“We are very positive about getting an expanded ownership in SimSuFoodS, it is in line with Lantmännen’s existing investments in plant-based ingredients and strengthening Sweden’s food supply. Growth in dry vegetable products continues to be strong, both in Sweden and the rest of Europe, and we see an opportunity to grow and broaden the business together in the coming years, especially in areas such as preparedness, emergency rationing and aid shipments of food,” says Lars-Gunnar Edh, Executive Vice President Lantmännen Energy Sector
SimSuFoodS has its headquarters, production facility and application lab at Lantmännen Biorefineries’ facility in Kimstad outside Norrköping.
