CIMMYT Delegation called on DG, ICAR
12 April 2022, New Delhi: A delegation from CIMMYT led by Dr. Bram Govaerts, Director General, CIMMYT & BISA called on Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) today to discuss various issues of mutual importance between the two organizations.
The deliberations focused on strengthening the existing partnership between ICAR and CIMMYT, Both sides also agreed to work together in sync to address the challenges in the field of agriculture particularly in the areas of Wheat and Maize production. They reaffirmed their commitment and resolve to work together in the current scenario of One CGIAR by revisiting the priorities that CIMMYT and ICAR could address jointly by sharing information and technical expertise from its global outreach.
The meeting ended with physical signing of the Record of Discussions by ICAR & BISA for JICA funded Project titled `Establishment of Nitrogen efficient wheat production system in Indo-Gangetic Plains by the development of BNI-technology” which had been signed digitally earlier.
