05 September 2022, VN: Recently, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) and the Department of Plant Protection of Vietnam organized an online assessment of 25 durian growing areas of Krong Pac Fruit Cooperative in association with Export and Import Trade Joint Stock Company Dung Thai Son.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Huy, Deputy Director of Krong Pac Fruit Cooperative, said that so far, the Chinese side has finished checking the planting area code and has been waiting for the results. According to Mr. Huy, the cooperative has been inspected with an area of more than 600 hectares, the output is estimated at more than 1,000 tons.

In order to make the inspection work more convenient, these days the cooperative has to prepare many different jobs. The inspection of many cooperatives is as passive as documents, some requirements from GACC but the unit has basically completed.

To prepare for the inspection, the Plant Protection Department supported the cooperative with some problems in the production process. In the 5K process, people entering and leaving farming must ensure pandemic prevention requirements. In addition, cooperatives must also comply with records and farming diaries at the request of the Chinese side.

“During the inspection, the preparation and moving between the gardens encountered many difficulties. The most difficult thing is the transmission line in the gardens, how to ensure the network connection with the Chinese side. Up to now, the Chinese side has finished inspecting. The cooperative is waiting to send the first durians to official exports,” Mr. Huy shared.

According to Mr. Huy, through inspection, GACC staff highly evaluated the cooperative’s durian gardens. In particular, the cooperative’s durian gardens all ensure environmental criteria.

According to the Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Dak Lak, GACC has checked 38 durian area codes and 6 local packing facilities online for nearly 15 days. The total area tested is 1,500ha.
