Agro-forestry-fishery export value in January 2021 reached 3.49 billion USD

26 February 2021China: According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the estimated value of agro-forestry-fishery exports in January 2021 reached 3.49 billion USD, up 27.1% over the same period in 2020. In which, the export value of main agricultural products was estimated 1.6 billion USD, up 28.9%; Livestock export value was estimated 26 million USD, up 3%; Fishery export value was estimated 600 million USD, increasing by 19.6%; The export value of major forest products was estimated at 1.33 billion USD, up 47.8%.

Total value of agro-forestry-fishery exports in January 2021 of Vietnam to markets in all regions increased. In which, the value of exports to Africa increased by 89.2%, Oceania  39.9%, America 38.8%, Asia 28.6% and Europe 11.3% over the same period in 2020, reaching 70 million USD, 62 million USD, 1.02 billion USD, 1.88 billion USD and 429 million USD, respectively.

The United States, China, Japan and Korea are the four biggest import markets for Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products, with 26.8% market share (value increased by 42.2 % over the same period in 2020); 25.4% (+ 38.6%); 8.3% (+ 25.6%) and 5.7% (+ 20.9%).

Seafood export value in January 2021 was estimated 600 million USD, up 19.6% over the same period in 2020. The United States, Japan, China and South Korea are the top four import markets of Vietnam seafood in 2020, accounting for 59.5% of total seafood export value. In 2020, the market with the strongest increase in seafood export value is Russia (+ 31.9%).

Estimated agricultural imporst in January 2021 was nearly 2.97 billion USD, up 47.2% over the same period in 2020. In which, the import value of main agro-forestry-fishery products wss estimated 2.63 billion USD, up 62.9%. Estimated value of imported seafood products in January 2021 reached 190 million USD, up 58.6% compared to January 2020.
