Agro, forestry, fisheries exports reached 17.15 billion USD in the first 4 months of 2021

11 May 2021, VN: According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the export turnover of agro – forestry – fisheries in April 2021 was estimated at 4.45 billion USD, bringing the total export value in the first four months of 2021 to 17.15 billion USD, up 24,2% over the same period in 2020. In which, the export value of main agricultural products is estimated at 5.9 billion USD, up 9%; Fishery export value was estimated at 2.39 billion USD, up 6.1%; Livestock export value was estimated at 125 million USD, up 37.4%; The export value of main forest products was estimated at 5.33 billion USD, up 50.9%.

Estimated total value of Vietnam’s agro – forestry – fisheries exports in the first four months of 2021 to Asian markets increased by 18.2%, reaching 8.05 billion USD; America increased by 56.7%, reaching 4.73 billion USD; Africa increased by 11.8%, reaching 249 million USD; Oceania increased by 29.2%, reaching 239 million USD. Exports to the European region were approximately equal to the same period in 2020, reaching 1.72 billion USD. Market shares of the regions in the total export value of agro – forestry – fisheries products of Vietnam in the first 4 months of 2021 are: Asia 46.9%; America 27.5%; Europe 10%; Africa 1.5% and Oceania 1.4%.

In the first four months of 2021, the United States, China, Japan and South Korea were the four biggest importers of Vietnam’s agro – forestry – fisheries products. Vietnam’s exports to the US market accounted for 25% and grew by 58% over the same period in 2020. Vietnam’s exports to China, Japan and South Korea had the share and growth rates of 23,3% (+ 35.8%), 6.8% (+ 4.5%) and 4.9% (+ 11.2%), respectively.

Import turnover of agro – forestry – fisheries products in April 2021 was estimated at 4.15 billion USD, bringing the total import value of the first four months of 2021 to 14.9 billion USD, up 48.7% over the same period in 2020. In which, the import value of main agricultural products in the first four months of 2021 was estimated at 5 billion USD, up 121.9%; Livestock import value was estimated at 1.38 billion USD, up 36.9%; Fisheries product import value was estimated at 0.68 billion USD, increasing by 22.1%; Import value of main forest products was estimated at nearly 1 billion USD, up 33.7%.
