2021 Cotton Grower of the Year field day at Quigley Farms – March 2023
07 April 2023, AU: After a year of waiting for the chance to showcase their farm in Trangie, recipients of the 2021 Bayer Cotton Grower of the Year award, the Quigley family, held their field day on 15 March.
On a warm and sunny Autumn day, the Quigley family welcomed over 200 people from across the cotton industry, to see their farming operation in action.
Located in Trangie, NSW, the fifth generation Quigley Farms is run by Tony and Sally Quigley and their sons Tom, George and Ritchie. With Tony and Sally stepping back from operational duties in recent years, the Quigley sons are taking the business to the next level, building on Tony’s efforts to improve water use efficiency and focus on sustainability, while staying heavily involved in the local community.
During the field day, guests were treated to an up-close look around two of their farms, followed by a barbecue lunch and panel session with the family, who provided a unique insight into their family-run operation, relying on regular meetings and benchmarking to improve business profitability.
