Martin Bossard On Biodiversity: “The Urgency Is Similar To That Of Climate Change”
16 October 2024, Switzerland: Biodiversity is one of the foundations of our existence, a major and complex issue – and one that is often overlooked. From FiBL’s point of view, a high biodiversity on the farm is an important pillar of good organic farming. Over the next few months, we will be giving a number of specialists the opportunity to share their views on the importance of biodiversity in agriculture in our “Voices on Biodiversity” series.
This time, it’s Martin Bossard’s turn. He had worked as Head of Policy at Bio Suisse, the umbrella organisation for Swiss organic farmers since 2009. He retired at the end of September. He will continue to be politically active on behalf of agriculture, including as Co-President of the Association for GMO-free Food.
