Best Practices for Threshing Soybean: Ensure Seed Quality with Proper RPM
04 October 2024, New Delhi: Proper threshing methods are crucial after harvesting soybeans to maintain seed quality. If the harvested soybeans are intended for next season’s seeds, threshing should be done at an RPM of 350 to 400.
This ensures that the seed quality remains intact and there is no adverse effect on germination. If immediate threshing is not possible, farmers should store the harvested crop in a safe place to protect it from rain, and only after thorough drying should the threshing process be completed.
