Agriculture Land Survey Checklist: How to Verify Agricultural Land Before Buying

16 February 2025, New Delhi: A physical land survey helps confirm the actual land area and boundaries, preventing encroachment issues. Buyers should hire a certified surveyor who can accurately measure the land, verify its geographical location, and match it with government records. The survey should include checking access to essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and electricity connections.

Soil testing is also recommended to determine the land’s fertility and suitability for cultivation. Buyers must also ensure that the land is not under any government acquisition plans or disputes by verifying local land records. Conducting a thorough land survey before purchase minimizes disputes and ensures that the investment aligns with the buyer’s farming or development goals.
