Vietnam intends to ban mancozeb and other molecules

03 December 2021, Vietnam: In November last week, Vietnam’s plant protection department issued a draft regulation. The regulation intends to ban a few active ingredients that have toxic effect to human health, livestock, ecosystems and the environment will be gradually removed from the permitted use list of in 2022-2023.

As per the timeline, insecticides Carbosulfan and Benfuracarb are scheduled to be banned in second quarter of 2022.

Mancozeb, Zineb, Maneb and Ziram which are essential fungicides are scheduled to be banned in the first quarter of 2023.

The herbicides Atrazine and Acetochlor will be banned in the second quarter of 2023.

Chlorothalonil, Carbaryl, Propineb, and Thiodicarb will be banned in the fourth quarter of 2023.
